Pioneering the multimodal era with our most context-aware and personalized mobile experience

Riyadh, KSA, 22 Jan 2025 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25, setting a new standard as a true AI companion with our most natural and context-aware mobile experiences ever created. Introducing multimodal AI agents, the Galaxy S25 series is the first step in Samsung’s vision to change the way users interact with their phone – and with their world. A first-of-its-kind customized Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset delivers greater on-device processing power for Galaxy AI[1] and superior camera range and control with Galaxy’s next-gen ProVisual Engine.

“The greatest innovations are a reflection of their users, which is why we evolved Galaxy AI to help everyone interact with their devices more naturally and effortlessly while trusting that their privacy is secured,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy S25 series opens the door to an AI-integrated OS that fundamentally shifts how we use technology and how we live our lives.”

Our Most Intuitive and Effortless Mobile Interactions Yet

With One UI 7[2], the Galaxy S25 series is a true AI companion that understands the context of your needs and preferences and provides personalized AI experiences with privacy assured at every turn. It’s the starting point of a shared vision with Google to imagine Android with AI at the core, bringing together developers and partners from around the world.

AI agents with multimodal capabilities enable Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images and videos for interactions that feel natural. Upgrades to Google’s Circle to Search[3]make searching your phone screen more helpful, fast and contextual. Circle to Search now quickly recognizes phone numbers, email and URLs on your screen, letting you call, email or visit a website with a single tap.

With Galaxy S25 series, you can also perform actionable searches with context-aware suggestions for next steps. Plus, Galaxy S25 makes it frictionless to switch between apps for quick follow-up actions, like sharing a GIF or saving event details.

Galaxy S25 also represents a breakthrough in natural language understanding, making everyday interactions easier. Simply ask and intuitively find a specific photo in Samsung Gallery or adjust the size of display fonts in Settings.

Just press and hold the side button to activate Gemini and perform seamless interaction across Samsung and Google apps, plus third-party apps such as Spotify. For example, find your favorite sports team’s season schedule and add it to Samsung Calendar – with a single command.

These intuitive interactions are elevated by expansions to Galaxy AI’s popular tools for communication, productivity and creativity. Galaxy S25 keeps calls organized with Call Transcript[4] and summary. Writing Assist features such as summarizing content or automatically formatting notes can be enabled where texts can be selected, without needing to switch between applications. Drawing Assist[5] unlocks fresh ways to bring ideas to life through combinations of sketches, text or image prompts.

Hyper-personalized Experiences with Privacy Secured

In the era of AI, personalization goes hand-in-hand with privacy. On Galaxy S25, the Personal Data Engine[6] powers personalized AI features by safely analyzing your data on-device to deliver highly tailored experiences that reflect your preferences and usage patterns. These insights enable tailored experiences such as searching for an old photo in the Gallery using natural language, or being guided through the day with Now Brief[7], which proactively offers suggestions accessible via Now Bar[8] on the lock screen. All personalized data is kept private and secured by Knox Vault. Combined with enhanced on-device processing capabilities, this creates a powerful, protected AI experience that is unique to Galaxy.

Galaxy S25 also introduces post-quantum cryptography, safeguarding personal data against emerging threats that could increase as quantum computing evolves.

Because there is no privacy without holistic security, One UI 7 laid the groundwork for these innovations by introducing an extra, fortified layer of device safety designed for the age of AI and hyperconnectivity. Additional updates include added Maximum Restrictions settings, enhanced Theft Protection, and a new Knox Matrix dashboard to monitor the security status across a connected device ecosystem.

Galaxy’s Most Powerful Performance Ever

The Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy. With unique customizations by Galaxy, this is the most powerful processor ever on Galaxy S series, delivering a performance boost of 40% in NPU, 37% in CPU[9] and 30% in GPU compared to previous generation. This power fuels the Galaxy S25 series’ ability to process more AI experiences on-device without compromise, including previously cloud-based AI tasks such as Generative Edit[10].

Samsung and Qualcomm Technologies worked together to customize the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy.  The Galaxy S25 series features advanced, efficient AI image processing with ProScaler[11] to achieve a 40% improvement[12] in display image scaling quality, while incorporating custom technology with Samsung’s mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) embedded within the processor using Galaxy IP to enable greater display power efficiency.

Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy is also equipped with Vulkan Engine and improved Ray Tracing, which makes for smoother and more realistic mobile gaming.

All intense device usage and AI processing run smoothly thanks to changed heat dissipation structure with 40% larger vapor chamber and a tailored thermal interface material (TIM) that delivers extra improvement in thermal efficiency.

Unleashing Truly Pro Creation

The Galaxy S25 series delivers ultra-detailed shots at every range with high resolution sensors and ProVisual Engine, setting a new standard for mobile photography. With a new 50MP ultrawide camera sensor upgraded from the previous 12MP, Galaxy S25 Ultra provides exceptional clarity and vibrancy.

10-bit HDR recording is now applied by default, offering four times richer color expression compared to 8-bit. Galaxy S25 can thus capture details in any lighting conditions. Plus, low-light videos have never been clearer than with Galaxy S25[13]. Based on powerful processor, Galaxy S25 analyzes movement and time to reduce noise more effectively. This integration allows detecting both moving and static objects with greater precision, ensuring sharper, cleaner footage in any scenario.

Galaxy S25 also introduces a range of tools once limited to specialized software, making advanced editing accessible for all. Now anyone can be a pro at editing photos and videos. Audio Eraser[14] simplifies the removal of unwanted noise in videos. By isolating categories of sounds – including voices, music, wind, nature, crowd and noise – you can control what to tone down or eliminate entirely.

For a DSLR-like experience on mobile, Galaxy S25 introduces depth-of-field control with Virtual Aperture, integrated into the popular Expert RAW[15]. Galaxy S25 also elevates cinematic creativity with Galaxy Log, enabling precise color grading options for more professional video production.

Portrait Studio[16] has also been enhanced, allowing users to create personalized avatars with more true-to-life facial expressions. Filters introduces new analog-style filters, delivering film-like aesthetic for their photos and videos.

Durable Design Embracing a More Circular Approach

The Galaxy S25 series builds upon Galaxy’s ‘Essential Design’ grounded in ‘Simple, Impactful and Emotive’ elements. Galaxy S25 Ultra refines this essence into the slimmest, lightest and most durable Galaxy S series yet, with a rounded edge for a comfortable grip that complements the series’ aesthetic identity.

Galaxy S25 Ultra features durable titanium and the new Corning® Gorilla® Armor 2, a first-of-its-kind material that is more durable than glass. It combines Corning’s glass-ceramic with a proprietary anti-reflective surface treatment, helping to ensure advanced drop protection alongside anti-reflection surface treatment and scratch resistance.[17]

Every external component of Galaxy S25+ and S25 now includes at least one recycled material[18], as their metal frame incorporates recycled armor aluminum for the first time[19].

In addition, while every Galaxy S25 series device uses a minimum of 50% recycled cobalt for its battery[20], Galaxy S25 will be the first Galaxy smartphone to feature batteries made with recycled cobalt sourced from previous Galaxy devices or the batteries discarded during the manufacturing process. Samsung goes through multiple stages with its like-minded partners, from extracting cobalt from used batteries to re-using the recycled cobalt for the batteries of Galaxy S25.

Combined with seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates[21], the Galaxy S25 series ensures a reliable and optimized performance over a longer lifespan.

For greater peace of mind, Samsung Care+ offers comprehensive coverage for accidental damage, repairs, and replacements, ensuring peace of mind for Galaxy users. Plus, Samsung is introducing the New Galaxy Club[22]. For users who love having the latest technology, this flexible subscription model is designed to make owning and upgrading Galaxy devices more convenient than ever. Regional details and availability will be announced at a later date.

All Galaxy S25 devices will come with 6 months of Gemini Advanced and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost. Gemini Advanced comes with our most capable AI models and priority access to the newest features like Gems, custom AI experts for any topic, and Deep Research, which acts as your personal AI research assistant.

The Galaxy S25 series will be available for order from [XXX date]. Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available[23] in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium Whitesilver and Titanium Gray. Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will be available in Navy, Silver Shadow, Icyblue and Mint.

Estonia Strengthens Digital Collaboration with Saudi Arabia, Showcasing Innovation in ICT

Rashad Iskandrni

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 16 February 2025: Estonia strengthened its digital ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) as the Estonian business delegation, together with Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs Liisa-Ly Pakosta, visited the country during the LEAP 2025 technology conference.

The business delegation led by the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITL) includes Estonian technology companies, which had the opportunity to showcase their innovative services and solutions during the visit, share the experience of the Estonian e-state and strengthen international business relations.

As part of an ongoing digital cooperation initiative, the visit underscores the Northern European nation’s unwavering commitment to driving innovation, advancing digital identity solutions, and supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 goals. With the 3rd highest number of cybersecurity companies per capita in the EU, Estonia brings solid expertise in digital security.

Estonian companies had the opportunity to strengthen existing cooperation and discuss possible new cooperation projects at meetings led by the Minister of Justice and Digital with representatives of the Saudi Arabian government and digital and business organisations. The minister also participated in a panel discussion on the main stage of the technology conference, where the ethical aspects of the use of artificial intelligence were discussed. Eight Estonian technology companies participated in the high-level visits: B.EST Solutions Estonia, Bamboo Group, CybExer Technologies, Helmes, Lean Digital, Miltton CIO World, Nortal, and Wildix.

According to Minister Liisa-Ly Pakosta, the meetings where Estonia's business and investment environment and its digital expertise were introduced to Saudi government ministers and influential IT company leaders exceeded expectations regarding success. Economic cooperation opportunities with Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, are highly attractive to Estonian entrepreneurs and are among the priorities of business diplomacy. At the Gulf Region business seminar held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tallinn last autumn, interest in the region was remarkably high among entrepreneurs. Visiting the region also provided an excellent opportunity to support entrepreneurs and present Estonia’s positions.

During the visit, the Estonian delegation engaged with key Saudi leaders to explore opportunities for digital collaboration in innovation, research and development, and capacity building. Meetings were held with H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Alswahah, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; H.E. Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment; H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen A. AlFadley, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture; H.E. Suliman Alobaid, Assistant Minister of Economy and Planning; H.E. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of Monshaat; and H.E. Dr. Saad bin Saleh Alaboodi, CEO of Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE).

The delegation also took part in the 'Gateway to KSA: Unlocking Business Opportunities for Estonia' workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Investment, where discussions centred on Estonia’s technological prowess and its potential role in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. Furthermore, the minister attended a dinner discussion on how to bring more women into IT  and met with Ms. Daniah Orkoubi, General Manager of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, to discuss support for women's role in IT.

Eva-Kristiina Ponomarjov, Director of Global Trade, Enterprise Estonia, stated,”Estonia may be rather compact in size, but it is digitally boundless and aims to collaborate in digital transformation projects on a global scale. We believe in digital resilience and open collaboration, where everybody wins. In this perspective, LEAP was a great leap forward for Estonian companies.”

For instance, Bamboo Group from Estonia signed a Letter of Intent with a local partner, Skyeyes, to form a joint venture that will transform infrastructure security in Saudi Arabia. This partnership is set to accelerate the Kingdom’s digital transformation and support Vision 2030.

Another key agreement is the collaboration between B.EST Solutions and Professional Solutions, a Saudi-based company specialising in digital products and emerging technologies. This strategic partnership will focus on implementing post-quantum-ready Mobile Identity solutions, including eSIM and cloud-based identities, to support secure cross-border services. Moreover, this collaboration aims to develop the mResidency programme, which is designed to attract global investors and entrepreneurs to Saudi Arabia, thereby enhancing the country’s global acumen.

In addition to B2B agreements, the IITL signed an MoU with the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO).

According to the CEO of ITL Doris Põld, Saudi Arabia is an important target market for Estonian technology companies. “Estonia’s ICT sector has long been at the forefront of secure digital services, and strong state support plays an essential part in helping Estonian companies expand into new markets. In this region, where government-backed initiatives drive large-scale digital transformation, having that support is vital for unlocking new opportunities.”

The Estonian government has played a crucial role in facilitating these partnerships, ensuring that the country's ICT sector, contributing 8% to the nation’s GDP, continues to lead the way in digital transformation. By fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, Estonia is advancing digital solutions that benefit societies and businesses alike, paving the way for a prosperous digital future. This is supported by the recent announcement that 100% of all Estonian public services are now accessible online.

Estonia and Saudi Arabia are poised to become leaders in the digital landscape, exemplifying how innovation can drive economic growth and societal well-being.

Espoo, Finland – Ooredoo Qatar, the leading telecommunications company in Qatar with more than 3.4 million customers, has selected Nokia to modernize the operator’s core network to enable the delivery of more advanced services, using network slicing and the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities that strengthen network performance, reliability, and the overall customer experience.

The modernization will support Ooredoo Qatar’s network evolution to unlock more value faster from its network assets through new business models and consumer and enterprise revenue streams.

“Our vision is about enriching people’s digital lives and taking this important step with Nokia, of moving to a 5G standalone core network, supports our group-wide project initiatives of evolving our network operations with new digital capabilities and business models that strengthen the customer and enterprise experience,” said Sheikh Ali Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer, Ooredoo Qatar.

The deal includes Nokia 5G voice corepacket core, and subscriber data management, which will provide Ooredoo Qatar with the capabilities to deliver ultra-low latency bandwidth and multi-access edge computing, which are needed to provide real-time industrial automation and high-quality gaming experiences at scale.

Nokia's core solutions give communication service providers the flexibility required to operate multi-vendor networks. Ooredoo Qatar will also be able to create thousands of virtual networks on a single physical network infrastructure, with each “slice" tailored to specific requirements for different applications, services, and customers.

“As a leading operator in the Middle East, Ooredoo Qatar continues to drive transformation projects that meet its customers’ evolving digital needs. We are delighted to grow Nokia’s strong partnership with Ooredoo Qatar by providing our flexible 5G standalone Core capabilities and supporting the operator’s multi-level network requirements,” said Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia.

Ooredoo Qatar will also use Nokia’s MantaRay NM solution for a consolidated and automated network view that optimizes network monitoring and management.

The deal includes the rollout of Nokia Data Center Fabric solution, which enables data centers and cloud environments to easily scale, adapt, and operate. As part of the solution, Nokia’s 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR) system will be deployed, allowing Ooredoo Qatar to provide its services at higher efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and increased capacity.

Nokia had the most 5G Standalone Core communication service provider customers, with 123 in total, at the end of 2024.
